Dr. P.T. Swamy began his study in medicine in India where he was born and raised. In 1966 Dr. Swamy along with his wife moved to New York where he began his surgical internship and residency in general surgery. Dr. Swamy held the position of Chief Resident of General Surgery from July, 1971 to June, 1972 at the Grassland Hospital in Valhalla, New York. Following this, Dr. Swamy served his first year residency in Plastic Surgery at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis until June 1973; and then became Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery at Methodist Hospital, New York until June, 1974.

In 1974 Dr. Swamy came to Texas to begin his practice here in the Sherman, Denison area along with his Pediatrician wife Dr. Sara Swamy. Dr. Swamy is Board Certified through the American Board of General Surgery (April 1973) and American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (April 1975).

Since Dr. Swamy began practice in the Texomaland he has held memberships in societies such as: Grayson County Medical Society, Texas Medical Society, American Medical Association, Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and so forth. Privileges are currently held with Texoma Medical Center, Wilson N. Jones Hospital, The Centre for Ambulatory Surgery, Heritage Park Surgery Center and Carrus Hospital.

In October of 2005 Dr. Swamy moved his practice into a brand new facility that was designed for him by his wife, to which he dedicated the building to, in her memory. Procedures that Dr. Swamy performs include but are not limited to; surgery of the hand, breast reconstruction, plastic surgery procedures and more.
